Newsham Park in Liverpool
Newsham Park is a handsome Victorian park set within 121 acres in Liverpool, surrounded by fine period architecture and with plenty to keep all ages busy. Whether you are coming for a walk, a spot of fishing or a session at the skate hub, there is lots to enjoy across the site.
Lakes
The park has two large lakes stocked with roach, carp and tench, making it a popular spot for anglers. One of the lakes can also be used for sailing model boats. An angling permit is required to fish in the park lakes.
Playground
The playground features swings, a roundabout, see-saw, spring mobile, spinning dish, play panels and a multi-play area - a good mix of equipment for younger children.
Action sports hub
The action sports hub is a dedicated space for skateboarders, BMX riders and scooter riders, making it a popular draw for older children and teens.
Historic features
The park is home to several notable historic buildings, including the Grade II listed Newsham House - where Queen Victoria once stayed and now used as judges' lodgings - and the Grade II listed Seamen's Orphan Institution. A cast iron bandstand adds further character to the site.
Cricket club
Newsham Park Cricket Club is based in the park and welcomes junior and senior players, with regular training sessions for the local community.
Lake View Kiosk
The Lake View Kiosk sells a range of hot and cold snacks, drinks and confectionery - handy for a refreshment stop during your visit.
