Great Homer Street Market - known and loved by generations of Scousers as 'Greatie' - is Liverpool's biggest, busiest and most iconic weekly market. First established near the site of what is now St George's Hall, the market moved to its current home on Great Homer Street in 1840 and has been a beloved Saturday institution ever since. With over 140 indoor and outdoor stalls, it is a bustling, colourful and wonderfully upbeat destination that has been the birthplace of many successful independent local businesses and the workplace of more than a few famous faces over the years.
Traders sell a huge variety of goods including the latest fashions, homeware, fresh meat, fruit and vegetables, plants, bakery goods, cosmetics, toys and much more - making it easy to arrive for one thing and leave with bags full. Hot and cold food stalls and a café are on site, along with toilet facilities and 130 free visitor car parking spaces. Whether you're a regular or visiting for the first time, you're bound to leave Greatie with full bags and a smile on your face.
