Fireworks Displays in Liverpool 2026

If you're still waiting for the Sefton Park fireworks to come back, we've got bad news: they stopped in 2016, along with Newsham Park. We know, we miss them too.

The good news is that Liverpool simply moved the party elsewhere. Golf clubs, rugby clubs, school PTAs, pubs and a couple of football stadiums now put on brilliant family displays across the city, the Wirral and Sefton. There's one free show and a quiet one for little ears.

Bonfire night is on a Thursday this year, with lots more displays on Friday 6 and Saturday 7. Here's every display we could find, grouped by day, with times, prices and where to book.

Quick picks

  • Free: Central Park, Wallasey, Thu 5 Nov, with food trucks, rides and stilt walkers from 3pm.

  • For little ears: Tranmere Rovers' Quiet Fireworks, Sun 8 Nov. They're seated, under cover and quieter.

  • Rain-proof: Tranmere's stadium seating, or Southport RFC (wheelchair and pram friendly).

  • No fireworks at all: the Wildlife-Friendly Bonfire Night at Lunt Meadows, Thu 5 Nov.

We've done our best to make sure the information in this guide is accurate, and it was most recently verified on 1st November 2026. Please double check with organiser's pages before making long trips. Stay safe and have fun. LRx

A bonfire, but no fireworks or loud rides. Lovely for wildlife-mad kids, and dogs are welcome on leads. Drivers need to book a £4 parking ticket in advance.

Is there a Sefton Park fireworks display in 2026?

No. Liverpool City Council's displays in Sefton Park and Newsham Park ended in 2016, and nothing has been announced for 2026. The nearest free display is Central Park in Wallasey on Thursday 5 November.

Tips for bonfire night with kids

  • Book ahead. Most club and school displays are advance-only, and lots say no refunds for weather.

  • Check the parking. Formby, Ormskirk, Southport and Bootle have none on site. Merseyrail is your friend.

  • Ear defenders for babies and toddlers, or choose Tranmere's quiet show.

  • Glow sticks make small people easy to spot in a dark field.

  • Wellies. Rugby and cricket pitches in November are mostly puddle.

  • Cash for school fundraisers, though St Helens is cashless.
